OCZ announces a new GeForce 8800 GTX
Word began to spread early last month that OCZ was about to get back into the graphics card market with GeForce 8800-series offerings closely matched to Nvidia's reference design. The rumors were true, and OCZ has now announced its first new graphics card, the OCZ GeForce 8800 GTX.
OCZ's new card runs at the very same 575MHz core and 900MHz memory clock speeds as the Nvidia reference, and it boasts the same cooler, as well. Nothing particularly noteworthy so far, but OCZ does claim its product offers high overclocking headroom thanks to "premium GDDR3 memory" and an "advanced screening process in which only the best complete cards make it into the systems of worldwide gamers." The company doesn't elaborate on what clock speeds overclockers eager to get themselves a late Christmas present might reach, though.
