ForceWare drivers for the bulk of Nvidia’s graphics card lineup haven’t been updated since last November, but Nvidia has now released a new ForceWare update specifically intended for its GeForce 8800-series cards. The update is numbered 97.92 and supports only GeForce 8800 GTS and GeForce 8800 GTX models. As can be seen in the release notes, Nvidia has resolved a number of bugs in Splinter Cell Double Agent, Halo, Oblivion, 3DMark 2006, and the Nvidia control panel. A bug involving Steam and SLI multi-GPU profiles has also been cleared, for those lucky enough to be running dual GeForce 8800s. The drivers can be downloaded here, although they’re only available for 32-bit versions of Windows XP. Nvidia doesn’t seem to have released GeForce 8800-compatible ForceWare drivers for Vista yet.
