AMD nabs IBM technology development head
IBM has been sharing its manufacturing technologies with AMD for a while, but now Big Blue has started to share its employees, as well. AMD says it has hired
Douglas Grose to lead its technology development and manufacturing operations. Grose is no stranger to the task, because he spent two years as general manager of technology development and manufacturing for IBM's system and technology group before joining AMD. Grose is now senior VP of technology development, manufacturing, and supply chain. He will be in charge of AMD's global manufacturing and process technology operations, encompassing both AMD's own fabs and the company's foundry partners like Chartered Semiconductor, as well as overall supply chain management.
