TR Forum Tidings: Vista speech recognition
Yesterday, TR forum gerbil blitzy posted a thread to relate his experiences
with the speech recognition software built into Windows Vista, and we've decided to select it for our new tidings post. Microsoft's latest OS promises to democratize speech recognition by allowing users to both dictate general OS commands and text, but blitzy found the software is still far from perfect. He thinks the amount of correcting and back-tracking he has to do makes the software too impractical for everyday use.
Have you given Vista's (or any other) speech recognition software a shot, and if so, how did it go? Did you like it, do you think it has potential, or were you unimpressed? Feel free to hit blitzy's thread and post if you have something to contribute. You can register a new forum account here if you don't already have one.
