AMD cuts prices once more

After a round of massive price cuts this year, AMD is at it again. The company has slashed desktop processor prices once more, and its dual core lineup now looks like so:

Processor Old price New price
Athlon 64 X2 6400+ BE $251 $220
Athlon 64 X2 6000+ $178 $167
Athlon 64 X2 5600+ $157 $146
Athlon 64 X2 5200+ $136 $125
Athlon 64 X2 5000+ BE $136 $136
Athlon 64 X2 5000+ $125 $115
Athlon 64 X2 4800+ $115 $104
Athlon 64 X2 4400+ $94 $89
Athlon 64 X2 4200+ $83 $78
Athlon 64 X2 4000+ $73 $68
Athlon X2 BE-2400 - $104
Athlon X2 BE-2350 $91 $96
Athlon X2 BE-2300 $86 $91

Chips from the Athlon 64 X2 4800+ to the 6000+ have gone down by $10-11 each, and chips from the 4400+ to the 4000+ have dropped by $5 each. The top-of-the-line Athlon 64 X2 6400+ "Black Edition" has gone down $31 to $220, while the new athlon 64 X2 5000+ "Black Edition," which is still $136.

Interestingly, however, AMD has raised prices by $5 for both the Athlon X2 BE-2300 and Athlon X2 BE-2350, despite the cuts in the rest of the lineup.
