Ronald already caught this in the Shortbread, but it deserves extra coverage. According to a post made by Epic Games VP Mark Rein on the official Unreal Tournament forums, a beta version of the Unreal Tournament 3 demo could be out as early as this week. In his post, Rein states, "The development team feels they're pretty close to being ready to release this so it could come out this week but for safety sake I'd say it should be out within two weeks."
This release won't be the full-blown Unreal Tournament 3 demo. Rather, Rein explains that the beta will be intended to test the game on different hardware configurations and gather feedback from gamers. Folks who download the demo will be able to enjoy "instant action" both online and against computer-controlled bots, Rein says. Thanks to Shacknews for the tip.
