AMD slashed prices yet again this week, so we've selected a few of the company's Athlon 64 X2 processors for our deals post. The real meat of the lineup is in the sub-$100 arena, where one can now grab the 2.5GHz Athlon 64 X2 4800+ for just $98.90 at ZipZoomFly. Similarly, the 2.3GHz Athlon 64 X2 4400+ is now available for $82, the 2.2GHz 4200+ can be nabbed for $73.90, and the 2.1GHz 4000+ is a scant $64.90.
In the same price range, Intel only offers the 1.6GHz Pentium E2140 for $71.90 and the 1.8GHz Pentium E2160 for $82. The Intel chips may be better overclockers, but it's hard to argue with the value proposition of the AMD offerings.
