Last week, we featured AMD's Radeon HD 3850 as our weekly deal, so let's now have a look at the Nvidia alternatives. For $139.99 with free shipping, Newegg is offering this Foxconn GeForce 9600 GT 512MB. This card is both speedier than the Radeon and roughly as power-efficient, making it a very tantalizing alternative for folks with a little more cash to spend. Owners of Nvidia SLI motherboards can also combine two of these for performance well above that of any $280 single-GPU card.
For those who feel comfortable tempting their luck with a mail-in rebate, Newegg also offers an Asus GeForce 8800 GT 512MB for $129.99 after rebate. The card normally costs $169.99, but Newegg sells it for $159.99 with a $30 mail-in rebate to potentially drive the price further down (assuming your rebate form doesn't end up in a dumpster somewhere). The Asus card comes with a custom cooler and a free copy of Company of Heroes. You can check out our review of that particular model over here.
