Deal of the week: A full-sized laptop bargain and a cheap 1.5TB

Some folks go with netbooks to save money, but they really don't have to: you can actually get a full-sized, dual-core laptop for the same price as many Eee PCs. Don't believe us? Check out HP's Compaq Presario CQ60Z, which is on sale now for only $379.99.

This notebook has a 15.6" 1366x768 display, a 2.1GHz Athlon X2 processor, GeForce 8200M G integrated graphics, 2GB of RAM, a DVD burner, 160GB of mechanical storage, a six-cell battery, and Windows Vista Home Basic. For 30 bucks extra, you can step up to Vista Home Premium x64 and get a free upgrade pass to Windows 7 Home Premium.

Sure, this may not be the best-looking or most portable laptop (not at 6.52 lbs), but we reckon $410 is a steal for a machine with not just a decent dual-core processor, but also capable integrated graphics and a modern, full-featured operating system.

If notebook bargains don't float your boat, Newegg also offers Samsung's new 1.5TB EcoGreen F2 hard drive for $97.99 with free shipping. This is one of those newfangled low-power drives with low spindle speeds (5,400 RPM in this case), so it may not be the best solution for a primary system drive. For mass storage, though, you can't go wrong with 6.5 cents/GB and largely positive Newegg reviews.

Tip: You can use the A/Z keys to walk threads.
