Three weeks ago, we heard whispers that Asus was putting the finishing touches on a new Eee PC tablet packing Windows 7 and a multi-touch display. Well, a system that corresponds pretty much exactly to that description has found its way onto Amazon, and it's now available for $532 with free shipping.
The Eee PC T91MT looks a whole lot like the older Eee PC T91 tablet, except it comes with Windows 7 Home Premium out of the box—a nice step up from Windows XP Home. Asus also included an 8.9" multi-touch display, of course, alongside a 1.33GHz Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of solid-state storage, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Much like the original T91, which has very similar specs, Asus rates this system for five hours of battery life. We wouldn't expect the T91MT to double as a portable media center PC, however, even with Windows 7 Home Premium's Windows Media Center software—on the original T91, that 32GB of storage is split between a 16GB SSD and a presumably slower 16GB SD card.
