Here comes a new batch of drivers for Nvidia's GeForce and Ion graphics processors. You can head down to the usual download page to grab the latest update now for Windows 7, Vista, and XP in 32-bit and 64-bit variants. According to Nvidia, this 196.21 driver release adds multi-GPU support for a wealth of games and fixes a good number of bugs while it's at it.
Here's what Nvidia says on the topic of new SLI profiles:
Adds SLI and multi-GPU support for many top new gaming titles including Avatar Demo, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, City Bus Simulator, Dirt 2, Ferrari Virtual Race, GREED: Black Border, Mass Effect 2, Mortal Online, Ninja Blade, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Demo, Planet 51, RUSE, Serious Sam HD, and Wings of Prey.
That's a nice list, especially since it even includes unreleased titles Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Mass Effect 2. (The latter is due out next week, while the former will launch in March.)
On the bug fixes front, you'll probably want to check out Nvidia' release notes for Windows 7 and Vista and Windows XP to see the full extent of the repairs. Nvidia has fixed multi-GPU bugs in 3DMark06, DiRT 2, and Left 4 Dead, and some other fixes apply to GPU-specific snags in games like Allied Force Falcon, Bioshock, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Risen, Shattered Horizon, The Sims 3, and World of Warcraft.
