Yes, we already wrote up a deal post earlier this week, but is having too many deals really a crime? Today, we see Newegg is offering Western Digital's 2TB Caviar Green hard drive for a juicy $99.99 with free shipping. And that, my friends, is worth another post.
The drive normally sells for $119.99, but until tomorrow, you can shave 20 bucks off of that using the "HDDWDSALE2TB" promo code. You're down to just under five cents per gigabyte at that point, which is mighty cheap for a solid Western Digital drive with good user reviews and a three-year warranty.
Just keep a couple of things in mind before clicking "Add to cart." The Caviar Green has a reduced spindle speed, so while it should be quiet and power-efficient, it's probably a little too slow to serve as a primary system drive. Also, this is one of WD's Advanced Format drives, so getting it to run on versions of Windows older than Vista apparently involves a little extra work. At that price, though, we can't complain.
