Steam sale offers Bad Company 2 for $6.79

For a couple more hours today, you can pick up Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for just $6.79 on Steam. If you’re a little behind on the latest releases but enjoy shooters like this, I’d strongly recommend picking this one up over paying full-price for CoD: Black Ops or other new hotness. Bad Company 2 was one of my favorite games of 2010, and you just can’t beat that price.

The Steam sale is full of other good deals right now, too. I grabbed Lego Batman for five bucks, for instance, and there are deep discounts on the FEAR games, Fallout 3, and Portal. The deals will roll over to a new set in a couple of hours, so hurry and check out the current selection before it’s gone.

Anyone think it’s worth holding out for HAWX 2 to go on the daily deals? Im thinking it’s too new for that, and I should just get it at the current offer price (Part of the Ubisoft-wide promotion on Steam at the moment)?

I would have paid full price for it, except the ‘always on’ internet connection required, DRM, and for every copy they sale, they kill a kitty 😉

Insanely good deal for such a new and IMO great game (compared to others out right now).

I bought a copy for myself and two for friends as a early christmas gift. Definitely something worth the money even if I get a few hours of play out of it. I already played the single player and I thought that was worth 7 dollars at least.

you know what? steam is making me purchase games I’ve purchased before and stuff I own legally or have played already, just to have it on steam. Steam really is just hassle free stuff man, really convenient.

I hope you realize that Steam supports registering many non-steam-purchased games under their service, based on CD-KEY aloneg{https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5414-TFBN-1352<]§

Been waiting for Battlefield: BC2 to go on sale for awhile now, so I picked this up last night as soon as I heard about the sale. Tried MW2, but wasn’t thrilled, so I’m hoping I like BC2 better.

Gifted this to the gf’s brother who recently bought a high end gaming PC, figure it should give him a demonstration of what it’s capable of 🙂

I grabbed BC2 last night. Sooooo sweet! Is Dirt 2 any good? I think I’d prefer off-road racing, all else equal, but is all else equal?

    Edit:

Started a forum thread asking for some help:

I’ve bought both BC2 and Vietnam at full prices and its definitely worth the price.

As usual, the BC2 launch was a cluster F with performance, bugs, stability, balance, etc. Now that several patches has gone out, the game is polished and Vietnam is small upgrade over the existing vanilla game.

EA must be pretty hands off lately, DICE is rolling!

Agreed. Love the feel of BC2 Vietnam.

COD BO was a massive disaster on the PC at Launch. Fixed now I guess.

      Cant wait for BF3!

    Regional Pricing Sucks.

With that said, I still bought the FEAR pack but beware:

FEAR1 comes bundled with all the DLC and the Perseus Mandate expansion, but its an all or nothing download (17Gigs on a crappy 1mb connection = almost a whole day).

I’ve been ‘exporting’ Steam gifts to Euro users for some time now. I’d suggest befriending a USian, and sending them the equivalent via Paypal, and having them gift you the game. It works.

My Steam account is happy to help, as well.

You all can thank me for buying it at full price the day before, thus triggering the sale today.

I bought it full price too and I’d do it again. It’s not as full of an experience as BF2 but it’s great compared to its competition.

I was a tempted but I checked the price and here in Europe at least it’s 13.59 EURO (18$) at this time. It says 66% off. I’m not sure if that includes VAT or not. Maybe the offer you mentioned ended by now.

That’s not to say there is an absolute dearth of good sales on the European steam store, by the way. It’s just that this price gouging irritates me to no end.

13,6 euros, which is 17,7 us dollars for us Europeans! We’re talking about 2.5x times the price here. I would have probably bought it for the equivalent of seven bucks (5,5 euros), but at almost 20 bucks, thanks but no thanks.
