Finally, Ubisoft has released an Assassin's Creed III trailer that isn't all pre-rendered. The "World Gameplay Premiere" video is up now on YouTube, and though it doesn't show actual gameplay, it still shows nothing but in-game footage. (That footage is purportedly of the "pre-alpha" kind, by the way, so don't expect everything you see below to appear in the shipping game as-is.)
We already knew a fair bit about Assassin's Creed III—the setting, main character and weapons, and the fact that it will have more modern-day segments than previous games in the series. This latest trailer makes one thing clear: leading man Connor won't be taking sides in the Revolutionary War. It sounds like Ubisoft will have you assassinating redcoats and rebels alike, even if the storytelling does seem to take an anti-royalist slant.
Last we heard, Assassin's Creed III was due out on October 30 for the PC and consoles. Here's hoping the PC version won't be mysteriously delayed, as it was with the previous title in the saga. (Thanks to Rock, Paper, Shotgun for the tip.)
