We’re giving away an Asus Radeon HD 7970 with three games, including Far Cry 3

The final stage of our rolling Radeon giveaway is upon us, and it involves the juiciest prize yet. This time, we’re giving away an Asus Radeon HD 7970 graphics card with 3GB of memory, a triple-slot cooler, and enough display outputs to light up Times Square.

Asus isn’t messing around with that triple-slot cooler, I can tell you from experience. It’s incredibly quiet in everyday use.

Also included are the same games from the Never Settle bundle that you’d get if you bought this graphics card right now, including:

  • A free copy of Far Cry 3.
  • A free copy of Hitman: Absolution.
  • A free copy of Sleeping Dogs.
  • A 20%-off coupon for Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

If you were to buy the card and games separately, you’d have to pay over $600.

To enter the giveaway:

The last few parts are entirely optional and won’t improve your chance of winning. Probably.

We do have a few requirements for entry, which are spelled out below.

Rules and regulations

Sorry, but this contest is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada (except Quebec) only.

Only one entry allowed per person, household, or e-mail address. Multiple entries per person, household or address are not permitted. Please don’t try to game the system by entering your girlfriend, wife, kids or pets. We’ll probably disqualify you if you do.

We will be accepting giveaway entries between the time this post goes up and December 13, 2012 at noon CST. We’ll then choose our winner in a random drawing from among all eligible entries. The winner will be announced on the site and will also be notified via e-mail. The winner must claim his prize by the end of the day on December 16, or he will forfeit his prize and we will draw a new winner.

You must include your full name and a physical shipping address with your entry. Only the winner’s name will be announced on the site. We will not share the address or other personal information with our sponsors or anyone else. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. TR reserves the right to disqualify entries that appear to be attempts to game the system or circumvent the rules in any way.

The staff of The Tech Report and their immediate families may not enter the giveaway and are not eligible to win.

We will accept entries only from residents of the United States and Canada (Quebec excepted). No purchase is necessary. This giveaway is void where prohibited by law. Neither TR nor AMD is responsible for any taxes on the prize, damage in shipping, damage caused by using the prize with other products, or health issues such as repetitive strain injury, eye strain, or chemical addictions that may result from prolonged use of the prize. We may answer questions and offer clarifications of the rules in this comments thread.

Questions and entry form

The supremely easy question is: what’s the code name of the GPU that powers the Radeon HD 7970? Fill out the form below with the correct answer, and you’ll be eligible to win.

This giveaway is now closed.

Friday is my birthday, and Morphine laughed at me coveting this very card over a year ago. I want this to be the one TR contest I ever win.

As someone who is going through the process of emigrating to Canada can anyone explain to me why TR has exempted Quebec from the competition. Surely TR is not some Anglophone exclusive club?

    Pourquoi?

      • sweatshopking

quebec has funny laws about contests/everything. much more regulation than other areas that makes it extremely difficult to award a prize there. You can expect almost ALL contests to not include quebec, not just TR.

        • Stickmansam

I believe that Quebec requires a purchase to enter a contest and some other weird regulation

      • WillBach

Probably because of this: [url=http://www.racj.gouv.qc.ca/index.php?id=117&L=1<]Publicity contests and drawings[/url<] I can't read French, but it looks like The Tech Report crew would have to notify the Quebec govt. in advance and pay fees.

Quebec has long been known to harbor species from distant galaxies incapable of reproducing–even with docile, willing, but sterile terrestrial mules. Attempts to capture these beings on film or digitally seldom produces fruit because of some the low-yield radiation these things emanate is very destructive to most recording media known to man. The policy of segregation is a matter of the survival of the human species. The Quebecois will eat anything human provided it can at least crawl, down to and including hacked off body parts and other limbs. Various attempts by humans even under the tutelage of great chefs like Oprah and Popeye the Sailor have resulted in many (human) deaths, as no matter how well it is prepared, the Quebec flesh is highly toxic to humans. No amount of spices and herbs will serve to neutralize such powerful toxins. And stink? Jeez, nothing on earth smells as foul as a ripe Quebecois that has been spoiling in the sun for a few days.

Found a short post (for WaltC.)

      • willyolio

just the opposite. Quebec tries to be a francophone exclusive club, and they have laws that force everything to be in french. they’ve even tried to sue companies because their names aren’t “french” enough. like Wal-mart.

if a contest is not offered in french or come with french packaging in the prizes or whatever… it’s illegal in Quebec. i forget the specifics.

OK! Now, I’m going to be honest here: I intentionally threw the last 2 contests on purpose because I’d be ineligible to win this one. I figured that I should throw some scraps to the little people. So now that the big prize is on the line, y’all better give up now, kuz I’m going to win.

“Oh look another FB and twitter hater”

          • DancinJack

I didn’t say the hate wasn’t warranted or that I support users of those services. Just that anyone and everyone has already said something about how awful they are. No need to beat a dead horse.

Buuuuuuut, the down-votes will convince me to condemn those that do use Facebook. For sure!
