Deal of the week: Storage, ultrabooks, memory, and cheap games

We've been busy all afternoon making sense of AMD's desktop graphics roadmap, so we're going to keep our weekly deal post short and sweet.

  • Seagate's 2TB Barracuda 7,200 RPM hard drive is available for $89.99 shipped at Newegg, down from the usual $109.99. Just enter the coupon code EMCXVWR23 on the checkout page to shave those 20 bucks off. (The coupon code expires on the 18th.)
  • Newegg also has a 13.3" Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook on sale for $549.99, down from $779.99. (No codes are needed, but the discount expires on the 20th.) The only catch here seems to be the old Sandy Bridge processor under the hood. Other than that, the specs look shocking decent: 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 128GB of solid-state storage, and a 6.5-hour battery. Newegg quotes a weight of 2.95 lbs and a thickness of 0.51"-0.68". Definitely a fair deal for just over 500 bucks.
  • You can nab a 16GB kit of Corsair XMS DDR3-1333 memory for $69.99 shipped. That, too, is quite cheap, especially now that memory prices are on the rise again.

On the gaming front, that big Steam for Linux sale is still underway, with a boatload of discounted indie titles that are playable on both Linux and Windows. Oh, and Amazon is letting folks pre-order Tomb Raider for $44.99.

Finally, in Canada, NCIX's Valentine's Sale Event is in full force. Seagate's 2TB 'cuda is also available there for $89.99, and Asus' Zenbook Prime UX31A (with its gorgeous 1080p IPS display) can be purchased for just $949.
