Deal of the week: Graphics cards, memory, and games

Writing out these deal posts in prose is getting pretty boring, so I think I'll go with our simplified list format this week. The list format has it all: bullet points, bolded product names, and handy links to the latest bargains we've come across. What's not to like?

This week, we've got a mix of hardware and PC game deals, including a cheap Radeon and some substantially discounted Steam downloads:

  • Sapphire's Radeon HD 7850 1GB OC graphics card is down to $129.99 at Newegg after a $15 mail-in rebate. This is a superclocked version of the card that runs at 900MHz (up from the default 860MHz) and sports a beefy, dual-fan cooler. It's also eligible for AMD's Never Settle Forever Silver offer, which entitles you to two free games out of a selection of eight.
  • Need a memory upgrade? G.Skill's Ares Series 8GB DDR3-2133 dual-channel memory kit is on sale for $53.99 as part of one of Newegg's Shell Shocker promotions. That's awfully affordable considering how much system memory costs these days. Remember, the 8GB DDR3-1600 kits we picked for our latest system guide cost around 70 bucks. These G.Skill DIMMs are faster, although their heat spreaders aren't quite as fancy.
  • Newegg offers a downloadable copy of Borderlands 2 for a cool $11.99.
  • ...and you can nab BioShock Infinite, also in downloadable form, for only $15.99.

Those are both Steam downloads. However, for some reason, they're much cheaper than the actual Steam listings. BioShock Infinite is $39.99 on Steam right now, and Borderlands 2 is $29.99. If you buy both games at Newegg, you get to save $42. Not bad, right?

As always, we'll wrap things up by inviting our Canadian readers to check out NCIX's latest sale. Among today's deals at NCIX: a 2GB Western Digital Green 2TB hard drive that's down to just $89.99 CAD.
