Deal of the week: Keyboards, coolers, and storage

We have a nice variety of deals this week, from mechanical keyboards and liquid coolers to solid-state drives and good old mechanical storage.

  • Rosewill's RK-9000BL mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX black switches is $64.99 at Newegg. The MX black switches have a linear, non-clicky response, and they require 60 g of force to actuate. They're a favorite among gamers, but typists will probably want to look elsewhere. See our review of the RK-9000 series for more details.
  • Corsair's Hydro Series H60 cooler is down to $54.99 after a $10 mail-in rebate. The H60 is a closed-loop liquid cooler with a 120-mm radiator and a matching 120-mm fan. If you want something better than a stock cooler and aren't partial to big honkin' tower-style heatsinks, this is a great alternative—especially for that price.
  • Crucial's M500 960GB solid-state drive is on sale for $484.99 (or about 51 cents/GB) if you enter the $45-off promo code "EMCWVWT229" at checkout. This isn't the fastest SSD out there, but it's pretty much within spitting distance of the top performers. More importantly, it's way faster than a mechanical hard drive, and its 960GB capacity leaves plenty of room for a large Steam library.
  • Of course, you'll still want some mass storage for non-performance-sensitive data. Western Digital's Green 2TB hard drive is on sale for $79.99 after a $10-off promo code (EMCWVWT39). The Green's 5,400-RPM spindle speed is a little too slow for OS and application storage, but it's more than fast enough for music, movies, and backups.

On the north side of the border, NCIX is running its Super Santa Sale Event. There's a ton of deals there, including a Radeon HD 7850 1GB graphics card for $119 CAD after a $30 mail-in rebate, WD's 2TB Green hard drive for $89.99 CAD, and Seagate's 3TB 7,200-RPM 'cuda for $119.99 CAD.
