Deal of the week: A 1080p IPS monitor for $125, plus graphics, storage, and PSUs

This week's deals come in pairs. Sort of. I have to do something different every once in a while.

  • Let's start with monitors, and specifically, a couple of cheap IPS units. Because God forbid anyone has to read about TN tech. Newegg is selling LG's 23" 23MP55HQ-P for just $125.99 after promo code EMCPBPB29. The same vendor also has Asus' 23.8" VN248H-P for 135.99 with promo code EMCPBPC57 and a $20 mail-in rebate. Both displays have 1920x1080 resolutions, and they're likely based on 6-bit rather than 8-bit panels. The Asus has narrower bezels, an extra HDMI input, and better contrast and brightness ratings. That explains the higher price.
  • A couple of Newegg's graphics deals also caught my eye. PowerColor's Radeon R9 270 is down to $139.79 after promo code EMCPBPB94 and a $20 rebate. The 2GB card has higher-than-stock frequencies and a dual-fan cooler, but there doesn't appear to be a game bundle. If you have deeper pockets, consider Asus' GeForce GTX 770 Direct CU II, which is discounted to $290.19 after promo code EMCPBPE28 and a $20 rebate. This is another hot-clocked card with a dual-fan cooler, also without a game bundle. Nvidia's supply of Watch Dogs keys seems to have dried up.
  • Gotta have cheap mechanical storage, right? TigerDirect is selling a 3TB, 7,200-RPM Toshiba hard drive for only $89.99 with coupon code CXT136327. Over at Newegg, WD's 5,400-RPM Green 4TB is on sale for $142.99 with promo code EMCPBPB22. There isn't a whole lot more to say about either drive.
  • It's hard to do a deals post without mentioning at least one SSD. Newegg is hawking Samsung's 840 Pro 256GB for $169.99 after promo code EMCPBPB23. That's not the cheapest cost per gig, but it's a good price on a great drive with five-year warranty coverage. Our other SSD deal is Kingston's HyperX 3K 240GB, which comes with a free copy of Watch Dogs for only $144.99. The game is worth close to $60 on its own, making the combo a pretty sweet deal.
  • Finally, we have a couple of PSUs. Seasonic's 650W SSR-650RM is slashed to $59.99 after promo code EMCPBPB98 and a $20 mail-in rebate. For for 10 bucks more (via promo code EMCPBPB42 and another $20 rebate), you can get the 750W Rosewill Capstone unit Cyril reviewed last week. Both PSUs have 80 Plus Gold certification and modular cables. The Seasonic has a five-year warranty, while the Rosewill is covered for seven years.

Those are the most interesting deals that popped on my radar this morning. As always, feel free to add your own in the comments below.
