The newest Assassin's Creed is official. Assassin's Creed Syndicate is set in 1868 London with a new pair of protagonists, the Frye twins, who seek to unite the poor against the capitalist oppressors of the Industrial Revolution—or something. The story is a little murky, but the game sure does look good. Here's the official trailer:
Syndicate's London will feature seven boroughs, and players will be able to traverse the city using period transportation like trains and carriages. A new rope launcher allows the player character to ascend buildings quickly and to zip-line between rooftops at will. The company is remarkably frank about the failures surrounding the Assassin's Creed: Unity's release, and it seems like the developers of Syndicate are at least trying to do better this time. We have a while to wait before the fruits of their labor will be ripe, though. Assassin's Creed Syndicate is slated for released on October 23 of this year.
