Rainbow Six Siege gets October 13 release date

It's been a while since we've seen a new Rainbow Six game, but the latest chapter in the franchise, Rainbow Six Siege, is set to arrive on October 13.  Here's the release date announcement trailer:

If these gameplay videos are anything to go by, the new game will be a heavily multiplayer-focused affair. Teams of five "operators," each with unique skills, will apparently fight another team of five "defenders" to pull off—or foil—tasks like hostage rescues. If October is too long a wait, pre-ordering the game gets you guaranteed closed beta access when that testing phase begins.
