Electronic Arts has shown us the latest game in the Need For Speed series... called exactly that. Take a look at the gameplay footage we saw, courtesy of YouTube channel Open World Games:
The gameplay looks a lot like a Need for Speed Underground 3 might have, but that's not a bad thing at all. You appear to have one car (then many), build reputation via street racing, and climb your way to the top. In the E3 press conference, EA claimed the game would have more car customization options than ever in the series, and a large open-world environment, with a "realistic physics engine" and fancy visuals courtesy of physically-based rendering. There's a multiplayer mode, of course, and you can join up with some friends to build a crew and roam around the city. Last but not least, the game features the requisite high-speed police chases, as well.
The next Need for Speed is set to be released November 3.
