"Next-gen hero-shooter" Battleborn is coming in February, Gearbox announced at Gamescom. Last time we looked in on the game, we learned about its team-focused campaign and multi-player modes. Now, Gearbox is talking about who Battleborn's heroes are. Check 'em out in the trailer:
Gearbox says there will be 25 Battleborn heroes in all, and each will have different strengths and weaknesses. Gearbox introduces four more of its heroes in the new trailer. There's a heavy-weaponry expert named Benedict that kind of reminds me of the Heavy from Team Fortress 2. Reyna leads a group called the Rogue Faction and has a cannon-arm, which I think I'd like to have in real life. Ambra gets up-close and personal to deal melee damage, but she's mainly a support character. If you want to sneak around, there's also Mellka, who counts gas attacks and stealth kills among her arsenal.
Gearbox also gave Battleborn a release date: February 9, 2016. That's still a long way off, but Gearbox and publisher 2K Games told RockPaperShotgun an open beta will take place before the release, with more details coming "later this year."
