Bayonetta developer PlatinumGames' Transformers: Devastation will be released on October 6, and it looks unbelievably good to this fan. The game mixes the Generation One look and feel of the 1980s cartoon and comics with a modern 3D game engine, and the result is a visual spectacle, as evidenced by this "behind the scenes" trailer fresh off the Activision presses.
In Devastation, players will control one of five Auotbots in an effort to thwart the Decepticons' plot to turn Earth into a new Cybertron. Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Bumblebee, Grimlock, and Sideswip will brawl, shoot, and transform their way through a story mode with five difficulty settings (in case you're afraid this game will be too easy), along with over 50 challenge levels that PlatinumGames says are "incredibly tough."
The 1980s motif looks great in the trailer, and the game's voice talent roster completes the throwback feel. IMDB says G1 veterans Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, and Dan Gilvezan are all back to play their parts, too. Did you just say "shut up and take my money," or was that just me?
