It's been two months to the day since Apple announced the iPad Pro, a big-screened, beefed-up tablet that's meant to take the iPad into new frontiers. True to the company's November release date, the iPad Pro will go on sale this Wednesday through Apple's online store. Brick-and-mortar Apple Stores will begin selling the tablet "later this week."
The iPad Pro gets its professional credentials from a 12.9" screen that can be paired with Apple's Pencil stylus for sketching and drawing. Inside, Apple's A9X SoC promises to double the performance, storage bandwidth, and pixel-pushing power of its A8X predecessor. A Smart Keyboard cover adds Surface-like utility to this slate for email and productivity junkies.
As a refresher, the iPad Pro starts at $799 with 32GB of storage and Wi-Fi. A 128GB Wi-Fi version will sell for $949, while the 128GB version with LTE is $1079. The Apple Pencil is a $99 extra, and the Smart Keyboard is a $169 add-on.
