TR’s 12 days of giveaways, day six: OCZ’s Vector 180 480GB SSD

Yesterday was the fifth of TR's 12 days of Christmas giveaways, and entrants were vying for a flashy bundle generously provided by Corsair. That bundle comprised a Strafe Silent RGB keyboard, a Scimitar RGB gaming mouse, a Void RGB headset, and an MM300 Extended mouse mat. The winner of yesterday's bundle is Christopher Casale. Congratulations, Christopher—your desk will soon be visible from space. Thanks again to Corsair for helping us brighten our readers' holiday season.

For today's giveaway, we're offering up another one of OCZ's Vector 180 480GB SSDs. I don't know anyone who couldn't use more high-speed flash storage in their stocking, but no one would blame you if you kept this sweet drive all for yourself, either.

This high-end SSD offers performance figures of 550 MB/s for sequential reads and 530 MB/s for sequential writes. Random I/O rates peak at 100k IOPS for reads and 95k IOPS for writes. The Vector 180 can also encrypt the data onboard with a 256-bit AES algorithm. OCZ backs each Vector 180 with a five-year ShieldPlus warranty, too. This program offers cross-shipment of replacement hardware, and owners only need the serial number of their eligible drive to initiate a claim. This drive retails for $219.99 on Newegg right now. Thanks to OCZ for tossing this drive into our big bag o' gifts.

If you've already entered our contest and haven't won anything yet, you're already eligible to win this drive. If you haven't entered, or need to catch up on what's happening, check out the rules and details in our introductory post, and enter using the form on that page. Good luck.

Grats!! was a great bunch of stuff!!!

I am so unlucky if I did ever win anything it would probably be destroyed by a tornado in a winter blizzard when the temperature is over 60f.

Actually, we did draw your name. However, the server crashed as I was opening your email, and although I saw your name and forum handle, the entry data went poof before I could see and verify your answer to the trivia question. When we re-booted, your entry was the only one we were unable to recover. Sorry; better luck next time.

      j/k
