TR’s 12 days of giveaways, day seven: a Monoprice keyboard bundle

Welcome to day seven of TR's 12 days of giveaways. Before we talk about what's up for grabs today, we need to announce yesterday's winner. Anyone who isn't David Case also isn't the lucky winner of an OCZ Vector 180 480GB SSD. Congratulations, David, and look for a message soon from our business guy, Adam Eiberger, with instructions on how to claim your prize. Our thanks to OCZ for making yesterday's giveaway possible.

You shouldn't despair if you didn't win, though. Monoprice has given us a third great keyboard bundle to give away today, and I have a joke to go with it.  How should Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer control his nose? I'll give you a second to think about it. Give up? With a red switch. You can despair over the joke, but the chance to win one of Monoprice's Enthusiast Backlit Full Size Red Switch Mechanical Keyboards and its XL Precision Gaming Surface should make you feel better.

The red switches in this keyboard actuate with a light 45g touch. Each key is individually LED-backlit in white, and the backlight is dimmable to taste. The keyboard also has full n-key rollover and anti-ghosting tech to ensure that critical keystrokes get registered.

The XL Precision Gaming Surface offers 240 square inches of space for your mouse to play on, and its textured microfiber upper surface offers better tracking for mice than a bare table or desk otherwise might. Thanks to Monoprice for today's prizes.

If you've already entered our contest and haven't won anything yet, you're already eligible to win this bundle. If you haven't entered or need to catch up on what's happening, check out the rules and details in our introductory post, and enter using the form on that page. Good luck.

I wanna win something I hope I at least got the answer right.

I just listed my GTX 770 Classified 4gb ACX cards on Amazon for $375 each…….I hope they sell since I have seen some sell at over 400$ used lately on Amazon.

If and when they do sell I am going to get a single EVGA GTX 980Ti Classified to run my 34″ 21/9 3440-1440 res 60hrtz IPS panel. Then I can at least get another 980ti down the road if Virtual Reality becomes something I want. Now i wish that 40″ 4k panel was out when I got my 34″ 3440-1440 panel…man I would be running some killer widescreen resolutions like 3840-1280/1440 and just have black bars along top and bottom of screen….at 40inches it would still be a nice screen size with like 25/9 format “total guess on the format” Plus games will run smoother also pushing less pixels simulating a super wide screen.

BTW sony made a “I think” experia phone with a 4k screen at 5 or 6 inches….I think that would work for a VR screen that would not give you the screen door effect….what you all think?

It’s fun to see the 12 days giveaways breaking the “no new articles on the weekends” rule. Sunday is when I’m most free to read stuff!

Oh no, that means someone read my joke!

The Wikipedia hyperlink cracked me up. (It’s like, worlds colliding: There’s a little backwater hamlet in my psyche from days long past, in which the pre-Internet still lives on.) But I’ve got an odd sense of humor and should be treated as a focus group outlier.

Ahh yes, one of my personal faves — I would totally love to see an article (or mere forum post) that’s a roll-call of funniest mass-downvoted comments of all time (ORDER BY thumbs_count ASC) with a play-by-play of what might have been going through the poster’s mind at that moment (or veins, as the case may be). Y’know, to glean ever-deeper insights into technology, of course.
