If you aren't excited for Rise of the Tomb Raider, you should be. The 2013 reboot to the Tomb Raider franchise is one of my personal favorite titles, and we've been following news of its sequel for some time.
The first bit of good news is that PC gamers won't have to wait long to begin raiding tombs again. Square Enix announced this week that the game will be available for download on Steam on January 28. The second bit of good news is that the minimum specs aren't too demanding. Here are the official minimum requirements:
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia Gefore GTX 650 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 25 GB available space
It's nice to see that someone sporting even a Sandy Bridge i3 and a GTX 650 can participate in the fun. It's worth noting that these are the minimum specs only, though. We're still waiting on recommended specs. Enthusiasts with beefy hardware may get a treat, though, as 2013's Tomb Raider had plenty of eye-candy and effects to crank up.
