Take a look at this AP article on Yahoo News. Because some merchants didn’t update their credit card verification software for Y2K, that software is now charging customers for any purchases they make — daily. That’s right, make a purchase on Monday and you’ll get charged on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. until the software is fixed. I would imagine that if merchants don’t get this fixed fairly quickly they’re going to have some very P.O.’ed consumers on their hands. Keep an eye on those statements, folks.
