Make Lunch Count Day Shortbread

I picked up Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator last night and spent a couple hours fiddling with it. There are good times to be had there, and also a lot of potential to put some hurt on your PC. The battlefield I laid out with over 50,000 units made my i7-7700K cry. The frame rate sometimes dipped below 10 (even though my GTX 980 Ti was pretty "bored" much of the time). That said, performance was perfectly acceptable under less extreme circumstances, and the game is quite an entertaining sandbox to play in. I suspect it's also a great way to show off the computing prowess of some gerbils' shiny new eight-core CPUs. At any rate, there are certainly worse things to spend $15 on.

Zombies vs. knights, just what I've always wanted.

So that autodraw is cute, if all you’re trying to get is clipart you can just as easily google for. But it’s kind of useless if you’re doing anything out of a very narrow groove. For instance, I tried a couple of times with no luck to get a star ship Enterprise, a Tie Fighter.. I couldn’t even get a planet Saturn (unless I wanted it to look like a fried egg or an eyeball)

Great, we may soon have an answer to the ages-old question of how many armored knights a single marine is equal to.

The ars article about the ant colonies is flawed. Altruism is not the reason wounded ants are carried back to the colony. It’s a simple cost/benefit relationship where a wounded ant is more effective than a dead ant. People and their emotions trying to explain things..

Within the field of zoology, altruism is a technical term that means essentially what you stated.

so, how many chickens does it take to bring a 7700k to it’s knees?

I’m not sure yet. However, I can confirm that 20,000 chickens are no match for 1,000 Chuck Norris clones.

    Regarding the Ryzen reviews…

The “12 thread vs 4 thread at the same price” comparison is pretty compelling. AMD has hit Intel’s market segmentation strategy right between the eyes.

I would think that the lowest cost response for Intel would be to enable hyper threading on the i5, and then bump the i7 up to 6 cores (also with hyper threading enabled). Super easy to do… but will they do it? Signs point to “maybe” on the 6 core i7 with Coffee Lake, but what about enabling hyper threading on 4-core i5 models?

Leaked TR Staff chats while writing this shortbread:
Colton: “Hey Bruno what’s the absolute worst and useless thing you can get for $15?”
Bruno: “I dunno, a refurb Celeron? Why don’t you ask Zak?”
Colton: “Oh good idea. Hey Zak, if you had $15 to spend what would you buy?”

I vote for a new TR “Zombies vs. Knights” benchmark for all reviews
