It's nearly that time of the year again. The magical weekend where TR gerbils from around the country (and maybe the world) descend upon the shores of Lake Michigan is less than three months away. If you're not already familiar with the event, suffice it to say that the TR BBQ is family-friendly and open to all readers of The Tech Report as well as their friends and families. All you have to do is make your way to Holland, MI on Saturday, July 15.
It's a little too early in the year for human-acceptable beach weather, but I took my dogs to the cottage yesterday to make sure the venue was still up to their standards. The only thing that disappointed them was when it was time to leave. However, they were kind enough to demonstrate their technique for scaling the beach cliff. Don't worry, we'll have stairs in place before the BBQ so none of you will need to attempt this maneuver.
Stairs to the beach are just a small part of the BBQ, though. It's the people, food, Cornhole tournament, and fireworks that are the real pillars of the event. Well, those activities plus PC hardware talk and craft beer tasting. In fact, my theme for the BBQ this year is "back to basics." I'm sure there will be a few superfluous extras, but my intention this time around is to keep the core competencies awesome and reserve some energy for other endeavors.
So, if you don't have anything better to do, consider joining us for a good time. You can start by checking out this year's BBQ thread for additional details. We hope to see you there!
