Morpheus' second coming
Seemingly undeterred by lawsuits, MusicCity is close to releasing version 2.0 of its popular Morpheus file trading software. C|Net reports:
In a newsletter sent out to users of the software for the first time this week, the company said it is close to releasing a version 2.0 of the program, which will tap into parallel Gnutella-based peer-to-peer networks, and support Windows XP. The company also said it is working on a version for Macintosh computers to be released in Spring 2002.
Wow, they're even letting Mac users get in on the fun. Seriously, though, tapping into Gnutella-based networks would be a huge score for Morpheus. That is, of course, if they can manage to ward off lawyers that have all but buried Napster already.
