Are you one of those people who's been eagerly anticipating the release of Windows 2000? Are you losing sleep waiting for February 17, when you can stand in line for what will surely be another Windows 95-style midnight release party? Well, you can get Win2K a week from today, and all you have to do is buy a computer; what a bargain!
This ABCNEWS.com reprint of a News.com article lays out the facts. Basically, OEM's are going to start selling system configurations with Windows 2000 as an available OS choice on January 24th. Compaq, Dell and IBM are among those offering Win2K; the article alludes to others but gives no details on who they might be.
FYI, if any of you out there really do want Win2K so bad that you're willing to pay for a new computer to get it, I'm offering a special deal of my own. I realize that having that extra computer around takes up valuable space and adds clutter, so feel free to just send me the computer so it's not in your way.
