How about these cookies, sugar?

If you have comments or suggestions about the site redesign, I’d consider it a personal favor if you shared them in the thread I created to keep them organized rather than posting them here. Thanks!

Very amusing news today. I might just have to get a twitter account…

  1. I’m totally, absolutely confident that Amazon launching 3,236 Internet satellites into orbit will be a huge win with no downside…and the defense lasers on them will be more than adequate to utterly destroy Elon Musk’s rebel scum SpaceX internet satellites. Begun, the star wars have.

No need to install lasers. Just a small bit of explosives in each satellite that blows them up after launch insures that no one is getting to use that space for some time. At least until the debris field clears.

Clause #5437 of the Bezos divorce agreement
-If either ex-spouse happens to get accidentally vaporized by a space laser within one year of the signing of this agreement, the shares will revert to the surviving ex-spouse.

What is funny is that the later versions of the Starlink sats will have lasers on them; Ol’Musky says they are for satellite to satellite communication, but who knows how high they will be able to turn the power up on them.

I remember being at Carnegie Mellon in the early days of self-driving vehicles where the Red Team Humvee nearly took out a bunch of undergrads on buggy day. Fortunately there was an NI (natural intelligence) system connected to he brake system.

The good news is that there’s nobody to run over on the moon!!

Do comments still require fishy approval? Or did mine just get eaten by the redesign kraken?

    • Once I’ve approved a comment from your account, the rest are automatically approved. If people start getting cute with their names, then they need to be approved again.

What do we need to do to get the site to remember comment information? I’ve clicked the “save my name, email, etc” box every comment I’ve left, but it doesn’t seem to stick or link with my forum account.

        • I’m not sure, but I will ask. WordPress seems to be keeping me logged in but obviously most people don’t have a CMS account.

Mine seems to refresh and require me to type in my name/address every time I visit the page after an hour or so. My forum login is persisting between these sessions as usual, though.
