IMO, ordinary Facebook asshattery isn’t news. The only thing people need to know about Facebook is to stay away from it. Continuing to use Facebook is like not quitting smoking.

[quote<]No Man's Sky fans buy billboard to thank devs[/quote<] I say they've earned it. Hello managed to turn one of the worst product launches in recent memory into one of the better sandbox games of the post-Minecraft era. Even Egosoft could learn a thing or two from a turnaround like that. It'll be interesting to see what they do next.

Looking for my bro @ronch

My car started to have a dead animal smell. I didn’t drive it for a week last week. Do I dare look under the hood or pretend it doesn’t stink?

Not necessarily, but I imagine the constituent parts of Ronch’s cat did shrink quite a bit.

I opened it today to get my ear buds as I ran to get on the bus. It was pretty bad in there. I’m still waiting to get ronch’s opinion on the matter.

Fact: Pomegranates are native to a region from modern-day Iran to northern India.

Supposition: It would seem logical that people in these countries eat lots of pomegranates.

Fact: USA life expectancy: 78.69 years
Pakistan life expectancy: 66.48 years
India life expectancy: 68.56 years
(source World Bank)

Fact: Pomegranates are grown in the north of India where the life expectancy is lower than in the south.

Ergo: I believe any effect on aging by pomegranates is small and offset by a myriad of other factors.

What % of deaths in Northern India are due to age-related problems?

Pomegranates and blood of the young? They are going to have to work to make that more appetizing. Maybe make a smoothie with some mango and pineapple.

2lb of cheese (surely you mean just short of 1kg) of cheese on a pizza in Japan? Admittedly, Japan is the least lactose intolerant of the asian countries, but that seems overpowered.

Now, being from the USA, I can tell you that Great Planes Sauce and Dough in Ames, IA has been making pizzas like this for years. I’d bet they taste better than something from Domino’s as well. (inherent bias)

I don’t like American pizzas. Too much cheese, too much sauce, crust too dense and bready. And don’t even get me started on deep dish pizza.

The pizzas I’ve had in Italy were much more sparing on cheese and sauce, and the dough is light and fluffy. Strangely enough, Domino’s is closer to Italian pizza than other US chains, and even a lot of mom and pop stores I’ve tried here.

More cheese sounds worse to me, not better.

You just made pizza makers all over the world cry by comparing Neapolitan, or Margherita style pizza to Domino’s. 🙂

The problem with pizza here in America is that relatively few places make their own dough, and the dough is really what it’s all about. There’s that, and it’s difficult to make a Neapolitan style pizza in a conventional oven because they don’t get hot enough.

Yeah, that and nobody here bothers to work and then rest the dough, which lets the yeast do its work so you get light, fluffy crust.

Instead, it’s much cheaper to use frozen pizza dough in bulk, giving us the dense, bready American pizza.

Even though I’m of the opinion that there is no such thing as bad pizza, I do agree with your preference for real Neapolitan pizza. If you ever find yourself in central Kentucky, find a place called Smashing Tomato; you won’t be disappointed!

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy has a few things to say on the subject of towels. A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value – you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini… Read more »

Oh there’s plenty of panic here at HQ!!

[url<]https://youtu.be/AXxmIcsmpnQ[/url<] Some AMD marketing guy said their chips are better and posted inaccurate FLIR video to fool people who don't know thermodynamics!! That's almost as scary as when AMD "proved" its miracle 16 coar parts were better than our old 8 cores in gaming by not showing real going benchmarks! This is real end of the world type stuff!

To be fair, the thermal camera bit of AMDs recent demo was in fact pretty lame, but there’s often plenty of that to go around.
