RIAA looking to smack down MP3.com

Thanks to Ryu Connor for this link discussing the RIAA's decision to sue MP3.com over the new services they're providing in the area of online music distribution. It'll be interesting to see how this one shakes out; on the one hand MP3.com look vulnerable since they're distributing music that they don't actually own the rights to. On the other hand, the consumers can't get the music from MP3.com unless they do own the music.

Not sure how this one would look in court. RIAA: "MP3.com is giving away our music!" Judge: "Who are they giving it away to?" RIAA: "People who bought it." Hmm....
