On rendering LOTR

Last week, ATI and Massive rendered The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in real-time. Increasingly, digital video editing is helping Hollywood develop its movies.

Most people like Peter Jackson because he makes great movies. Seagate's Rob Pait worships him because every frame of The Lord of the Rings footage was stored digitally for editing.
So how much do you need to store LOTR's first trilogy? Try 27 terabytes.
