BOXX Technologies will be at NAB 2001 in Las Vegas from April 23 to 26 where they will be showcasing their 3DBOXX R1 series of workstations (Acrobat plugin required for the press release). They are based on dual Athlon 1.4GHz processors.

BOXX Technologies, a leading provider of digital content creation systems for the entertainment and digital film industries, announced today its new 3DBOXX R1 series of workstations for Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows NT or Linux based on the newest 1.4GHz AMD Athlon processors. Optimized for leading 3D and animation software programs such as Maya, 3D Studio MAX, Softimage 3D, LightWave 3D, and Houdini, the 3DBOXX R1 series is available in dual processor configurations, which offer exceptional price and performance in a cooler, more compact, and easily serviceable workstation configuration.

PC Watch is reporting that AMD Japan will be promoting a new 3D graphics benchmarking test designed to stress the CPU called N-Bench. The size of the file is expected to be ~40MB and it will support Enhanced 3DNow!, SSE (but not SSE2), and MS DirectX 7 or above.
