Pumped up plastic

— 8:43 PM on February 4, 2000

The muscles work in a similar manner to real muscles, only they expand when an electrical charge is applied instead of contract. Plastic muscles could be used to improve technologies such as artifical hearts, inkjet printers, and flat-panel loudspeakers.
