New DeskNote coming with upgradeable graphics
ECS will apparently launch
two new DeskNote models this month, further blurring the line between desktops and true notebooks. One of the new DeskNotes will use a Transmeta processor, and another will be based on Intel's Pentium 4 processor. What's especially interesting about the Pentium 4-powered model is that its graphics card will be upgradeable, hopefully to a level that's LAN party-worthy.
The DeskNote concept is already a smart idea, and adding upgradeable graphics to that only makes the platform more attractive. Since ECS already has Athlon XP-based DeskNotes, I'd expect that an AMD-powered model with upgradeable graphics will make its way to the market eventually, giving budget-conscious consumers one more option on the portable computing front.
