RIAA unleashes wave of subpoenas

The RIAA's first salvo of lawsuits has apparently been unleashed on ISPs across the US. For now, ISPs are getting information subpoenas that force them to reveal the identities of accused peer-to-peer pirates. The much-despised DMCA does require a "good faith belief" of infringement before ISPs have to give up subscriber information, but given how open the most popular P2P networks are, the RIAA should find it easy to be convincing enough.
