Intel to cut Pentium M prices in October
that have "Dothan" Pentium M processors delayed until 2004, Intel will still slash prices
for the current "Banias" Pentium M in October. Pentium M prices will drop between 13 and 34% depending on speed, though the cuts won't come in time for the back to school buying season.
Intel will apparently cut mobile Pentium 4 prices in October, too, but I have to admit that I'm far more excited about the Pentium M than any of Intel's other mobile chips. As ultra-light notebooks like Dell's new Latitude X300 roll out, my 10lb desktop replacement is only going to feel heavier and heavier.
