News.com pointed me to an article at RedHerring.com that discusses what’s going on at Transmeta. Transmeta is of course the company that Linus Torvalds works for that has been shrouded under a veil of secrecy since the day it was founded. Poking and prodding has revealed a few glimpses of what’s going on at the company, such as several patents that give some insight into the product behind the secrecy.
The article, based on other information I’ve read on Transmeta, is basically a summary of past rumors and news items on the subject, along with a few more recent rumors (like a January 19 announcement date). Nonetheless it’s a good summary. If you haven’t been paying much attention to the all the Transmeta talk, it’ll get you caught up in a hurry and ready for Linus’ keynote next week.
