Ars tackles POWER5, UltraSparc IV, Efficeon

— 12:30 PM on November 20, 2003

Ars Technica has posted a look at a trio of processors you don't hear much about: IBM's POWER5, Sun's UltraSparc IV, and Transmeta's Efficeon. In traditional Ars fashion, the article is full of technical goodness; the discussion of Transmeta's Efficeon and just what makes the processor more efficient, but less powerful, is particularly interesting. Never heard of the POWER5, UltraSparc IV, or Efficeon? Head on over to Ars and PYAITK.
