Audible Magic signs with Sony

More than a year after we first caught wind of Audible Magic's audio fingerprinting technology for peer-to-peer networks, the company has signed on with Sony. The two will apparently work together on a new anti-piracy program that targets universities. If successful, the program could become a model for other labels and even ISPs seeking to curb peer-to-peer transfers of copyrighted material without blocking legitimate P2P activity.
