Netscape 10-year anniversary celebrated
It's been 10 years since the first version of the Netscape browser was released, and News.com has put together a little retrospective
titled "Bowed but not broken" about the browser's long and troubled life. The lead article
offers a nice synopsis of Netscape's history and current (rather sad) state, including the news that AOL is planning a new version of Netscape and a renewed marketing push. Details about the new browser are sketchy, but the story says it won't be based on Internet Explorer like AOL's other effort
. Seems like it's too little, too late to me, though.
