ULi M1573 south bridge spotted

— 9:34 AM on December 7, 2004

OCWorkbench has the goods on ULi's M1573 south bridge, which boasts an impressive array of features and compatibility with ATI's latest north bridge chips. The M1573 packs a Fast Ethernet MAC, four-port SATA RAID with support for RAID 0+1 and Native Command Queuing, Azalia-compliant high definition audio, and an unspecified number of PCI Express lanes. With the Radeon Xpress 200 chipset notably lacking NCQ and high definition audio, the M1573 could be a popular substitute for ATI's own south bridge chips in enthusiast-oriented Radeon Xpress boards.
