AMD projects lower fourth quarter income

AMD is projecting significantly lower fourth quarter operating income than it had previously expected. A declining market for flash memory and intensifying competition from Intel are being blamed for the lower than expected income, but AMD's processor business apparently remains profitable. Last quarter, memory products accounted for over 43% of AMD's revenue. Computational products, which include processors, were responsible for 54% of AMD's third quarter revenue.
