Unannounced Intel chipset pops up in Japan
Although Intel's 945P Express chipset hasn't been formally announced, Akiba has the goods
on Asus' 945P-powered P5LD2 Deluxe motherboard. Information on the motherboard is in Japanese, and the translation is pretty rough, so it's hard to nail down the chipset's feature set. The board appears to work with dual-core processors, but it's unclear whether SLI will be supported. With two PCI Express x16 slots, it should support a pair of graphics cards. However, the number of actual PCI Express lanes available to each slot is unknown, as is whether NVIDIA's drivers will permit graphics cards to work in SLI on the platform.
