Intel to push Pentium D server platform

— 2:01 AM on July 4, 2005

eWeek is reporting that Intel will launch a dual-core server platform this month. However, the platform won't be based on a dual-core Xeon chip. Instead, it appears that Intel is looking to market the Pentium D, coupled with a new "Mukilteo" chipset, as single-processor server platform. Dual-core, dual-processor Xeon platforms won't arrive until next year.
